Ironic isn’t it?
An Irish bred horse with a familiar spanish phrase for a name.
That’s the way it is in today’s Race of the Day from Hollywood Park when trainer Ron McAnally sends out greetings and salutations and the hopes of a fond farewell.
It’s the G3 Sunset Handicap at 1 1/2 miles on the Turf. You can Play the race today if you’re looking for a place for the best in horse racing betting online then look to TwinSpires and BugBoy.net and remember to use the code

We’re speculating but it appears that late last year Jockey Joe Talamo had the mount on Buenos Dias when McAnally put him away until this past spring meet at Santa Anita. When he brought him back it was Brice Blanc who rolled him with him last month.
By then Mandella had Champ Pegasus underway and Talamo was on ‘the Champ’ who is fighting at his lightest weight ever and has a fighting chance to win the race.

In today’s race of the day from Aqueduct there were ten horses originally entered when the race was drawn. Since entry time three horses have scratched. Of the seven remaining horses, five were ridden by Ramon Dominguez in their last race.
Today, Dominguez rides Mr. Fantasy for trainer Michael Hushion and is listed as the 8-5 favorite in the morning line. He’s had one race since April ’09 when he rolled home an easy winner over the naturally speedy and versatile This Ones For Phil in the G3 Withers at one mile over the main track at Aqueduct. He was the beaten favorite at GP last month in a race that has since seen the winner, Formidable, return to win his third in a row.

Keeneland opens today with the Transylvania. Better hurry there going to go off!
Lost Aptitude is exiting the Fountain of Youth and you might consider that a key race with Florida Derby winner, Ice Box, exiting the race and Discreetly Mine running second in the Louisiana Derby.
He was part of what would have been a faster pace than there will be now. The DRF running line probably says it all and they scratched because he’s not right.
Call Shot was scratched from the race that would have been his third after a layoff. Catalano is not known for turf runners and this horse looks like he would have trouble getting the distance in here.
That leaves Macias as the lone speed of the race and he is the morning line favorite for Bob Baffert. On paper he looks good if we were going 7/8′s or a mile but he may also have distance problems.
After the scratches the second choice is Nordic Truce and Leparoux decides to stick with this horse over Guy’s Reward who he rode last time but was beaten in that race by Nordic Truce. He’s by Yes It’s True who isn’t necessarily known as a stamina producer but this horse is two for two lifetime and has a late kick that looks like he’ll be rolling down the lane.
The remaining contenders are Alfarabi who exits the Pasadena in last and was beaten by Macias in that race.
Desormeaux will have to time his move perfectly for this other son of Yes It’s True who does have a win at 1 1/8 miles at Santa Anita. Strike the Tiger won his maiden going 4 1/2 in the slop then Velasquez follows him to GB and runs at Ascot and wins a 5f dash on the grass. Looks like he’s getting more wind in him and going longer but don’t see him being around for long.
King Ledley for Darrin Miller ran in the BC Juvenile Turf last year and finished tenth. Then came back at GP last month to run fourth in Alw NW1X. Looks like they’re experimenting with the blinkers and suspect he’ll race without them today.
Selections: 8 – 7 – 2 – 4
